Georgia Authorises DBS
DBS hard efforts towards quality are transformed to accreditation, justifying DBS steady growth.
Maritime Transport Administration of Georgia (MTAG) authorizes DBS to carry out surveys and issue Statutory Certificates in accordance with the applicable Rules and Regulations of 1974 SOLAS Convention and its 1988 Protocol, 1966 Load Line Convention and its 1988 Protocol, 1969 International Convention on Tonnage Measurements of Ships, 73/78 MARPOL Convention, as amended and IMO Codes.
Since 1993, Georgia as a Maritime Nation, is a full member of the International Maritime Organization. The 1977 Maritime Code of Georgia was adopted and entered into force and has been twice examined by IMO and EU experts. Maritime Transport Administration has obtained the Quality Standards Certificate in accordance with ISO 9002 and at present it is being certified in accordance with ISO 2000 standard. In May 2004, IMO MSC confirmed the position of Georgia in the IMO STCW "White List".
